NY Bar Foundation accepting applications for fellowships | News
The New York Bar Foundation is now accepting applications for Corporate Counsel Section Fellowships.
Fellowships will be awarded to first or second year law students of a diverse background. According to a statement, gifts from the Foundation from the Corporate Counsel Section of the New York State Bar Association as well as other donors will provide the funding for the fellowships.
"We are very pleased to accept a gift from the Corporate Counsel Section and individual donors to support the fellowship. This will be a terrific opportunity for diverse students to learn about in-house law," said M. Catherine Richardson of Syracuse (Bond, Schoeneck & King), president of The New York Bar Foundation. "The section's commitment to diversity continues to make a difference for law students enrolled in New York State law schools."
Fellows will help public, legal or charitable organizations’ general counsel, or similar counsel position. The fellowship will begin June 4 and continue to August 10. Students must be enrolled in law school in New York State during the 2012 spring semester to be eligible.
Organizations must apply by Feb. 29 and applications are available here.
